Okay, I am not even one day into this and I need to beg for a break. Not for fun reasons either. My beloved mother-in-law passed away last Friday and I am off in the morning for the services. I must be nuts, flying into and out of South Bend, Indiana in less than 48 hours, but she was a special lady and deserves my respects. Alas for my bratlings, they will have to do without me for a couple of days, but they will probably have more fun with the sitter than me anyway!

One of the sad things about this excursion is that the shawl I finished up for her to have throughout her chemotherapy treatment for a brain tumor never got sent. So I am packing it for me with promises to find more memories of Grandma to share with the girls. Now if I can just find that perfect edging for the shawl I am currently slaving away on, this would be the perfect opportunity to finish the darn thing! But unless I become extremely inspired by tomorrow morning, it may just have to be a pair of socks instead. Now if I can just remember what size needles I was using for the first ones.

When I come back, I promise that I will figure out how to post pics and do some other fun blog stuff! And I lied on the one day thing....but does one minute into the next 24 hours really have to count?

After reading all of my favorite knitting blogs, I have finally decided to jump right in. Not to worry over the small stuff, like knowing what the heck I am doing, I shall simply stumble along and hope to learn a few things in the process. And since I am a knitter first and fledgling computer geek second, this could be quite an interesting venture. So welcome to WeeBugKnits.

This blog is about me, Marti and my knitting adventures and or misadventures. I seem to have been born with a knitting needle in hand and my children will attest that they rarely see me go anywhere without my knitting. It might be self defense of a sort, at least I can block out my husband's driving that way. I can't actually remember learning how to knit, but it must have been one of those rare things that my mom and I actually did together without arguing too much. Mom says that she didn't have to really teach me much, just showed me the basics and off I went. Knitting to me is fascinating and I never seem to be bored. Likewise, I am not content to just knit the same old thing, but am forever trying something new.

So this blog stuff is new, so bear with me. I will figure it out eventually.
